Trae Young no longer calls Atlanta home, but his impact on the ATL community continues to be felt and will likely carry on to generations of Georgians.
On Wednesday, June 17th, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta celebrated the opening of eight brand new pickleball courts at the McCleskey-East Cobb Family location. Donations from the Trae Young Family Foundation as well as from the YMCA at-large made the creation of the courts possible.
“We are grateful to the Trae Young Family Foundation and all the donors for helping make this investment in our community possible,β said Lauren Koontz, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. ββAt the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we believe everyone deserves opportunities to connect, grow and thrive through healthy living. These new pickleball courts will provide a welcoming space where children, families and older adults can build relationships, stay active and experience the joy of play together.”
The new courts will help the McCleskey-East Cobb level up their youth camps and create additional opportunities for families and older adults to learn the game of pickleball as a means to invigorate their competitive spirit and promote physical health and well being.
