Five years after breaking ground on the original Young Family Athletic Center in Norman, the Young Family is doing it again.
Trae Young and his family joined city leaders and development partners in Yukon, Oklahoma, on September 4 for the ceremonial groundbreaking of Young Family Athletic Center West, the second facility bearing the family’s name.
The new YFAC will anchor Miller Crossing, a 25-acre mixed-use development located at 1900 S. Yukon Parkway across from Yukon High School. The development is expected to include restaurants, retail, medical offices, hotel space and a parking garage in addition to the athletic center.

“This can’t be done with just one person; it takes a whole group; it takes a village to make something like this happen,” Trae said at the groundbreaking.
For Trae, bringing the center to Yukon was an easy decision.
“When I got the call from my dad about this opportunity to bring it out here, I thought it was a no-brainer, because Oklahoma is only getting bigger,” he said.
The location also has a personal connection for Trae, who grew up in Norman and played at Yukon during his high school career.
“I drove up here to play in Yukon all the time in high school,” he said.
Syntrias Development Partners, Patriot Land Company and the City of Yukon hosted the groundbreaking along with the Young Family Foundation. Trinity Builds, whose owner Bryce Johnson is a Yukon High School graduate and fourth-generation Yukon resident, is handling construction of the project.
Like its counterpart in Norman, YFAC West is being designed as a destination for youth sports. Developers say the facility will host basketball, volleyball and pickleball events, including regional and national youth tournaments.
Trae also plans to stay involved once the facility opens.
“I’m going to be around too, and pop in every now and then to see the kids and do some things up here too,” he said.
The athletic center will be one part of the larger Miller Crossing development, which is being described as the largest commercial development in Yukon’s history.

Construction of the athletic center and adjacent parking garage is expected to take approximately two years.
The original Young Family Athletic Center opened in Norman in February 2024 after the Trae Young Family Foundation committed $4 million to the project. It has since become home to basketball and volleyball leagues and tournaments, pickleball, aquatics and sports performance and health services.
